Aquatech has an immediate need for a fulltime Certified Welding Inspector to work in our Hartland, WI office. The hours are Monday Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. The Certified Welding Inspector will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered an Exempt employee and must be able to relocate to the Hartland / Milwaukee, WI area. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, have an attention for detail, problem solver, technical knowledgeable, and team oriented. This candidate also must be certified in AWS and or CWI.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Graduate Minimum Technical, Welding or Quality related higher education is preferred. Five (5) years of related experience is required. A current CWI certification is required. NDE and Auditor Certifications are a plus. Experience inspecting piping, pressure vessels and structural fabrications to the above mentioned codes. Experience with supplier surveillance and the review of quality documentation such as WPS/PQRs, NDE reports and material certificates.Beneficial Experience:
Supervisory experience, Quality Auditing, Quality Management, orISO 9001
2015 experience. Significant travel (30-40%) both domestic and overseas is required. Valid driver license is required. Valid Passport is requiredJob Description:
Track and ensure closure of all nonconformities. Submit the required project quality documentation (EOMR, etc.) to the customer in a timely and complete manner. Review contract documents and applicable job specifications (Turnover Packages). Assure that the customer requirements for projects are met or that exceptions are taken as necessary. Maintain Project Inspection and Test Plans. Inspect pressure vessels, piping and structural fabrications to applicable codes. Assure project quality requirements are met and properly documented. The Project Quality Manager will communicate with suppliers and internal Project Teams on a daily basis.Skill Requirements:
Must be able to read fabrication drawings for pressure vessels, piping, and structural fabrications. Must be able to read electrical drawings and P&IDs. Knowledge of ASME and AWS welding requirements. Requires knowledge of ASME SectionsV, VIII/IX, ASME B31.1, ASME
B31.3, andAWS D1.1
codes. Must be able to communicate in a professional manner with suppliers and customers. Ability to review project and customer technical specifications and incorporate the requirements into project quality plans and I&TPs. Proficient in using MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
