Chef de Cuisine / Kitchen Manager at Ms. Rose's Fine Food & Cocktails | West Ashley, Charleston, SC At Ms. Rose's, we're all about Southern comfort with a modern twist. We take the flavors people grew up loving and serve them in a laid-back neighborhood atmosphere focused on hospitality, consistency, and great food. We're looking for a Chef to lead our kitchen team. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on organization, team development, execution, and building strong kitchen systems in a high-volume environment. We're looking for a strong kitchen leader who understands how to balance food quality, labor, food cost, teamwork, and daily operations while keeping a kitchen running smoothly and professionally. What We're Looking For Strong Kitchen Leadership You know how to lead a team, maintain standards, and create accountability without creating chaos. You're calm under pressure, highly organized, and able to keep service moving in a fast-paced kitchen. Operational Mindset You understand labor management, ordering, inventory, prep systems, scheduling, and food cost control. You know how to build structure and keep a kitchen operating efficiently. Team Development You enjoy coaching and developing cooks, building consistency, and creating a professional kitchen culture where expectations are clear and the team works together. Food & Execution You care about quality and consistency. You can balance creativity with practical execution and understand how to develop food that works operationally in a busy restaurant. Responsibilities Oversee daily kitchen operations and service Manage scheduling, labor, ordering, and inventory Maintain food cost controls and operational organization Lead, train, and develop kitchen staff Maintain consistency, cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards Assist with seasonal features and menu execution Work collaboratively with front-of-house leadership Qualifications Previous Executive Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine, Kitchen Manager, or similar leadership experience preferred Experience managing labor and food cost controls Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to lead professionally in a high-volume environment Strong understanding of prep systems and kitchen operations Brunch and Southern/comfort food experience is a plus What We Offer Salary starting around $75,000 based on experience Fully employer-paid health insurance Paid vacation Growth opportunity within an established Charleston neighborhood restaurant A supportive team environment with ownership and management actively involved in operations If you're a strong kitchen leader who takes pride in running organized kitchens, developing teams, and delivering consistently great food, we'd love to hear from you.
