Job Description

Montelupo Italian Market is a small neighborhood restaurant and market focusing on fresh, house-made pasta dishes that rotate seasonally. We are a small crew that focuses on quality, consistency and perfectly executed pasta. Montelupo is currently looking for a new executive chef to lead the kitchen team. We have two amazing seasoned pasta makers who will be your backbone in creating amazing food. We also have a commissary kitchen at our sister restaurant, Monty s Red Sauce, that will make some of your sauces and pastries.

This is a salaried position and compensation is 65K+ depending on experience. What you ll do
  • Lead the kitchen team through service 5 nights a week
  • Communicate with the Front of House to ensure a smooth service and satisfied guests
  • Place orders and build relationships with purveyors and sales reps
  • Work with our pasta team to continuously create a wide array of pasta shapes and types
  • Work with our executive chef to create new seasonal dishes.
  • Communicate with our commissary chef and team to ensure timely transfer of prepared food.
  • Interview, hire, coach, retain and fire team members.
What you Bring
  • A minimum of three years leading a kitchen and at least one year in a pasta heavy Italian restaurant. Fresh pasta experience is a huge plus but not required
  • A desire to take ownership of the kitchen you run, the team you lead, and the food you create
  • A strong ability to lead through motivation and respect
  • A level head and ability to stay calm under pressure-A keen eye for detail and consistency-Experience in menu creation
  • Experience with food costing, labor control, and other financial deliverables
  • A moderate understanding of Google suite
  • A willingness to grow with the team as we transition to the Montelupo Market we create together.
Montelupo Italian Market currently has a bilingual kitchen team. A Spanish speaking chef is a plus but not required.
