Videos Duties Help CYP Assistant (CY 1702-01/02) Provide approprie specialized developmental care and instruction for children and youth in one or more Child & Youth programs. This includes the provision of guidance, assistance, and mentoring for the CY Program Assistants. Duties may include assisting in the child's arrival and departure from the center, diapering, feeding, toileting, resting, etc.; developing and assisting with games and learning activities; observing and evaluing development levels and maintaining records and other reled duties. Other duties may be assigned. CYP Leader (CY 1702-02) Provide approprie specialized developmental care and instruction for children and youth in one or more Child & Youth programs. This includes the provision of guidance, assistance, and mentoring for the CY Program Assistants. Duties and responsibilities of the CYP Leader have been grouped into cegories, including mentor, curriculum, indoor and outdoor environment, interactions and relionships, supervision of children and youth, parent and employee communicion, assessment, and compliance. Other duties may be assigned. CYP Operions Clerk (NF 0303-02) Serves as a contact point for informion and performs clerical and administrive tasks in support of the Child & Youth Program. Duties are reled to record keeping and reporting, liaison with families and programs, and collection and monitoring of fees and supplies. Prepare and maintain reports, correspondence, and stistical and financial da. Assure accuracy of child registrions and enrollments. Ensure USDA food program records are accure. Maintain files and prepare daily, weekly & monthly reports in compliance with policy and procedure in a timely manner. Provide front desk coverage, answer phone inquiries, collect fees and process payments CYP Cook (NA 7404-08) Performs various tasks or a sequence of tasks in food service preparion. Prepare, cook, season, and portion food for all meals by following standardized recipes various levels of difficulty. Monitors temperures and steam pressures, evalues the condition of food being cooked frequent intervals, and cook food evenly to prevent uneven cooking and drying out. Modifies recipes for ingredient quantities, the number of servings, and the size of equipment available. Other duties as assigned. CYP Food Service Worker (NA 7408-04) Assist in food preparion with tasks such as peeling vegetables; cutting, sorting, and washing as needed; assembling sandwiches; and measuring and weighing ingredients. Stocks food service carts with approprie utensils, ples, bowls, food and beverages, as required for family style dining in the classrooms or activity areas. Wraps, arranges, and/or packages items for serving to children and youth. Cleans serving carts, food preparion areas, cupboards, drawers, and dishwashing areas. Performs heavy-duty cleaning tasks through the food service and reled areas, such as cleaning ceilings; cleaning exhaust hoods; cleaning spaces under and behind kitchen equipment, including moving he equipment; washing floors and walls with powered cleaning equipment; cleaning walk-in refrigerors and freezers; and sanitizing garbage room. Labels and des all items in refrigerors and freezers and stores leftovers in accordance with sanition and health standards. Performs other duties as assigned. CYP Custodian (NA 3566-02) Performs custodial and housekeeping services according to the established specificions on a routine basis to ensure cleanliness and standard of the center. Cleaning may involve, but is not limited to: sweeping, mopping, cleaning bhroom and kitchen fixtures, changing paper towel rolls, in and outside of all windows, dusting and waxing of floors and furniture, emptying and washing trashcans. Inspects grounds, including removing trash and debris, and notifies supervisor of safety hazards. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Help Conditions of employment Must be 18 years of age or older. Complete required training certifices, and maintain certificions or credentials required by Federal, Ste, and/or nional accredition institutions used as part of DoD's Child and Youth Programs. Pass all applicable records and background checks. Undergo pre-employment and random drug testing. A positive drug test, or failure to submit for testing, is a basis for removal from this position. Pass a pre-employment physical, provide evidence of immunizion, be free of all communicable diseases, and obtain approprie immunizion against communicable diseases. Employment contingent upon proof of educion if not provided time of applicion. Marijuana is a Schedule I drug under the Controlled Substances Act and therefore use of marijuana is illegal under Federal law regardless of Ste laws. A positive drug test result for marijuana (or any other drug tested for) will result in withdrawal of the tentive job offer and ineligibility to apply for a position within the Department of Defense for 6 months from the de of the drug test. Entry Level:
The primary function of this position is to serve as a trainee assisting higher-level employees to provide approprie developmental care and instruction for children in the Child Development Center. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and successfully pass the required security and health checks. GSE 03•
Intermedie Level :
The grade level of this position represents the intermedie level for childcare positions. Performs many difficult childcare tasks using training and experience. Training of a progressively responsible and specialized nure associed with childcare and development operions. In addition to meeting the requirements of the GSE-02, applicants must have six (6) months' experience working with children or youth in a child or youth setting AND completion of child abuse modules and modules 1-3 of the Department of the Navy (DON) Standardized Module Training. Knowledge of basic child and youth development principles as they rele to children and youth's physical, social, emotional and intellectual development. Ability to plan and organize work and to interpret a curriculum or activity plan and follow written instructions. GSE-04•
Target Level:
Must possess one of the following: A Child Development Associe (CDA) credential or Military School Age (MSA) credential OR completion of the DON Standardized Module Training AND 12 months of experience working with children and youth OR a 2-year degree in Early Childhood Educion, Child Development or reled field of study.
Note:
If the incumbent is hired the GSE04 target position, the incumbent must complete the Navy module program within 18 months. Must possess organizional skills necessary for program planning and scheduling. Able to speak, read and write English and possess strong interpersonal skills. CYP Cook (NA 7404-08) Knowledge and understanding of food handling techniques, personal hygiene standards, and safe work procedures. Thorough knowledge of the full range of food preparion principles including the techniques and procedures necessary to develop new or revise current recipes and to prepare and cook food in large quantities. Working knowledge of sanition standards and procedures to prevent contaminion, such as the need to clean equipment previously used for raw food before further use and the need to use a chemical sanitizer or maintain proper wer temperure when cleaning dishes. Skill to overcome practical production problems, evalue final food products, and initie corrective action when an item does not meet established quality standards. Ability to coordine a full range of food preparion activities involving quantity food production where a number it items are cooked simultaneously and require varied cooking methods, timing requirements, many ingredients, and numerous interreled steps. Skill to overcome practical production problems, evalue final food products, and initie corrective action when an item does not meet established quality standards. CYP Custodian (NA 3566-02) Knowledge of a variety of chemical and cleaning agents. Skill to use a variety of household and industrial equipment and tachments. Skill to opere, clean, and make adjustments to powered cleaning equipment. Physical ability to move furniture, lift and move objects over50 1bs, walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis. Ability to communice effectively in English, both orally and in writing, and possess strong interpersonal communicion skill.
