YMCA of Centre County's Penns Valley Branch is seeking a full-time Child Care and Membership Director to lead our school age child care programs, summer day camp, and member services operations. This position plays an important role in creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children, families, members, and staff while supporting the YMCA's mission to strengthen community. The ideal candidate will be organized, relationship-focused, and passionate about youth development and community impact. Job Responsibilities Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with all PA Department of Human Services (DHS) regulations. Train and support staff in PA DHS regulations, PA Keystone STARS standards, Environmental Rating Scale requirements, and new staff orientation. Ensure the safety and supervision of all children in care. Oversee developmentally appropriate programs that support individual interests, learning styles, and needs. Foster positive communication with parents, children, staff, and YMCA members. Identify staffing needs and report them to the Executive Director of Child Care Services. Assist with hiring, scheduling, and supervision of child care and membership staff. Process bi-weekly payroll timecards for child care and membership employees. Develop, manage, and monitor department budgets to meet operational goals. Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and employees. Complete administrative responsibilities including attendance, meal counts, incident reports, newsletters, curriculum planning, supply requests, and related documentation. Assist with branch events and additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Candidates must meet ONE of the following PA DHS qualification requirements: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, or the human services field and at least one year of experience working with children. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field and two years of experience working with children. An associate degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field and three years of experience working with children. An associate degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field and four years of experience working with children. Compensation & Benefits This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a pay range of $17.23-$19.23 per hour, depending on experience.
