Job Description

Position Summary:
CBC—Cherokee Boys Club, Inc. Child Development Cook/Food Service Worker is focused upon, but not limited to: Menu Planning Meal Preparation Order food and supplies for kitchen goals Serving two meals and snack for students at Child Development five days a week Creating special dietary needs for students with diagnosed allergies Tracking daily meals and snacks for USDA standards Sanitation Standards for Food Service, Preparation, Storage Maintain Safe Inventory Standards labeling Resources for
Family Nutrition Needs Essential Duties, Requirements & Responsibilities:
Menu Planning:
Create monthly menus for two meals and snacks in accordance with USDA guidelines for Early Child Care Standards Adhere to North Carolina Nutrition Guidelines Attend to students with special dietary requirements Work with program Administration directives
Meal Preparation:
Attend to planned menu for that specific day Prepare meals, in such a way, but not limited to cooking standards, including the following: Grains, dairies, proteins and vegetables Guided by Serve Safe food preparation standards Prepare meals for training's, meeting's and monthly family gatherings Order Food and Supplies for
Satisfying Kitchen Goals:
Work in accordance with Menu Plans Order food based upon menu plans Use the online vendor order system Receive and check orders for completeness Submit invoices from Milk vendors Submit invoices from Bread vendors Make occasional visits to local grocery store for sudden needs Order supplies based upon kitchen and meal needs Use online vendor order system Order supplies for eating and cooking needs Plan for monthly parent and program gatherings Receive and check orders for completeness Serving Two Meal and snacks for
Students:
Satisfy daily meal schedules including, but not limited to time schedules and various schedule changes Creating special dietary needs for children with diagnosed allergies: Work with family and teacher to understand the special food requirements Adhere to the established guidance Work in such a way to satisfy USDA dietary guidance, standards and diagnosed needs Tracking Daily Meal and Snacks for
USDA Standards :
Complete meal count sheets, including food prepared and served Maintain submitted meal count sheets for anticipated food ordering requirements Sanitation Standards for
Food Service, Preparation, Storage:
Adhere to NCDHHS and other Child Care facility sanitation standards concerning the entire food service process, preparation and storage Safe inventory
Standards:
Maintain inventory for food and supplies, according to guidelines for labeling, rotating and food expiration dates
Family Nutrition Resources and Needs:
Have available and provide possible nutritional menus and guidance for families
Qualifications:
Required :
North Carolina Drivers License 18 years old Complete the required
NCDHHS/DCDEE

Complexity of Duties:
Six months should be considered necessary to become proficient within most phases of job requirements Communication with public, be it families, state departments, internal departments & customers is required for requests and/or complaints Must be able to work in a way, that is creative and still adhere to completion of reports that are timely, as well as understandable Constantly evaluating and modifying existing systems that meet operational requirements Use problem solving skills that analyze data to enhance job performance, understanding the effects from change
Supervision Received:
Works within the general guidance of the Child Development Manager/Director. CBC General Manager and adhering CBC Human Resource departmental procedures Has latitude for independent thinking for satisfying goals and objective of the Child Development program Responsibility for
Accuracy:
Work is performed, in such a way, that reduces undetected errors that could range from minor to significantly affect program operations within the framework of audits and other reviews for program standards Work in such a way, that adheres to I.T. (Information Technology), accounting software and email policies and procedures
Contact With Others:
Maintain a professional decorum and courtesy with contact, ranging from occasional to frequent, being Child Development staff, families, social service programs, Cherokee Boys Club, Inc. department manager/directors, vendors and general public
Confidential Data:
Adhere to confidential rules and/or policies for confidential, secret, privileged and proprietary data/information not considered for public use Adhere to Cherokee Boys Club, Inc. Confidentiality/HIPPA Policy and Procedure Agree to a Child Development "Assurance of Confidentiality" agreement Adhere to established
FERPA Family Education Rights Privacy Act Environment:
Completed, or performed mainly indoors, within the typical office conditions, operating computer, telephone, copiers, and standard office equipment Experiencing interruptions throughout the workday is normal Traveling may be required to other CBC locations, as well as training seminars
Mental/Visual/Physical Effort:
Concentrating and attending to detail are required for sustained periods of time Requires standing, walking, bending and reaching Requires ability to hear at proximity (up to five feet) and at a distance (up to twenty feet). Requires clarity of vision at varying distances
Pay:
$31,800.00 - $47,700.00 per year
