Child & Family Case Manager II Cass County MN 400 Michigan Avenue West, Walker, MN 56484 $37.39 - $48.02 an hour $37.39 - $48.02 an hour
PURPOSE OF POSITION
Under general supervision, performs work of considerable difficulty in providing intensive social work services for the protection, rehabilitation, and care of children; performs highly critical social work assignments in voluntary and non-voluntary child protective service cases; and performs related work as assigned.
WORK PERFORMED/JOB FUNCTIONS
Conducts complex case investigations and evaluations for the purpose of assessing problems and determining appropriate types and methods of treatment. Provide accurate documentation so that client services are efficiently delivered, records follow Agency/State/Federal regulations, and reimbursements for services are maximized. Maintain/improve case management/social work skills, and meet educational requirements set by the Department of Human Services and Minnesota State Law. To consult, collaborate, and participate in Agency team work and community/public contacts. Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of interviewing and recording in social work, and the ability to apply them. Knowledge of individual and group behavior. Knowledge of social casework objectives, principles, and methods. Knowledge of social-economic factors, which promote stable family life, and understanding of the elements that affect family security. Knowledge of the child welfare laws relating to dependency, neglect, and delinquency.
Knowledge of the court procedures:
due process of law and rules of evidence. Knowledge of the principles of family and marital counseling. Knowledge of the techniques of child placement with emphasis on the complete participation of the parent or guardian. Knowledge of the principles of community organization. Ability to work constructively in the development and coordination of community resources to meet special needs. Ability to manage time productively, prioritize caseloads, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to assume a leadership role in this Senior position, represent the agency in a collaborative role with other agencies and committees, and provide ongoing positive-based input for processes, procedures, and development. Having the ability to train on various programs/roles, cover for absences or openings, and the ability to mentor. Demonstrates positive, team-building influence within Social Services units, and has a strong, proven skill set in multiple Social Services programs/processes.
MINIMUM TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, OR CERTIFICATIONS
A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in social work, psychology, sociology, or a closely related field, or a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in any field and one year of experience as a social worker in a public or private social services agency. Must hold and maintain valid licensure as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) in the State of Minnesota. Requires three years of proven leadership and mentorship experience as a Social Worker. Must have a valid driver's license.
PHYSICAL EFFORT
Sedentary to light physical activities requiring stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, talking, hearing, and close vision. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 35 pounds. Typically, in an office environment.
HOURLY RANGE
$37.39 - $48.02
