Job Description

Eat & Shop Venue Rentals Educators Researchers VISIT WHAT'S ON EXHIBITIONS COLLECTIONS CLASSES SUPPORT JOIN Children's Summer Art Camp Instructors The Delaware Art Museum Summer Camp runs from June 8 through August 21, from 9:00am-4:00pm. Classes have up to 12 students, with 2 snack breaks and a lunch break for campers each day. Students are aged 6-12 (broken into 2 groups-ages 6-8 and 9-12). Young artists will explore drawing, painting, ceramics and more in the Bank of America Education Wing studios, the Museum's galleries, and the Copeland Sculpture Garden. The Summer Art Camp Instructor must have at least one-year prior experience working with children. Visit our website to see the breadth of our programs. Please indicate your program interests when applying. The rate of pay is $30 per hour. Essential Responsibilities include: Prepare and provide creative curriculum and instruction Create a safe, inviting, and friendly class environment Good classroom management and organizational skills are a must Demonstrated proficiency in a variety of artistic mediums, such as drawing, painting and ceramics Model processes step by step, keeping students engaged, excited, and supported Meet students where they are-with patience, encouragement, and genuine care Preparation before camp and reset the space for the next session Communicates and collaborates well with other instructors, camp assistants, volunteers and Studio Programs Manager Creativity is expected-we're problem solvers and creative solution finders Arrange a student art show for parents at the end of each session Coordinate supply orders with Studio Programs Manager Ceramics instructors will coordinate with the Ceramics Tech to schedule firings

Cartoon Creations June 8-12, 9:00am-4:00pm (need 2 instructors) Things That Move, June 22-June 26 (need 1 instructor) Outdoor Adventures June 29-July 3, 9:00am-4:00pm (need two instructors) Tiny Stars (Theater) July 13•July 17, 9:00am-4:00pm (need one instructor)
Two Week Classes:
Sculpture Mania July 13-July 24, 9:00am-4:00pm (need 1 instructor) Art Around the World August 10-August 21, 9:00am-4:00pm (need 2 instructors with 1 proficient in ceramics) Please visit our website to view classes.
