Part-Time City Maintenance Worker Position Overview

• Assist with maintenance of public properties including streets, sidewalks, and parks
• Must be available for emergency calls as needed, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Work under the direction of the City Council Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Illinois Driver's License
• Required certifications (if not already held, must be obtained within the following timeframes): ○ IEPA Class "C" Water Certification (within 24 months) ○ IEPA Class "4" Wastewater Certification (within 24 months) ○ Illinois Class "B" CDL (within 6 months) Compensation
• Pay based on experience and certifications
• Suggested wage rates as follows: ○ Start without CDL B
• $25.00/hr ($41,600/yr plus overtime) ○ With CDL
• $27.00/hr plus start 401K with 3% match ($45,760/yr plus overtime) ○ Class 4 Wastewater
• $1.00/hr additional (+2080/yr) ○ Class D Water
• $1.00/hr additional (+2080/yr) ○ Class C Water
• $1.00/hr additional (+2080/yr) ○ This would max out at $52,000/yr plus overtime Additional Information
• Residency within the city is preferred, but not required. All qualified applicants will be considered. Opportunity for Growth & Advancement This position is expected to begin as part-time, with the potential to transition into a full-time role based on experience, performance, and department needs including:
• Oversee daily operations of the city's water and wastewater systems
• Maintain distribution systems, water, and wastewater plants
• Perform required testing and reporting in compliance with IEPA and USEPA standards Full-time status includes eligibility for benefits such as health insurance.
