Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a City Maintenance/Water Operator and become a vital part of ensuring the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of our community's water and infrastructure systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced equipment, perform essential maintenance tasks, and contribute directly to public health and environmental stewardship. We are seeking motivated individuals who thrive in a hands-on environment, possess strong mechanical aptitude, and are eager to make a positive impact through their work. Responsibilities Operate and maintain water services, wastewater treatment systems, and related infrastructure to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards. Conduct routine inspections of water and sewer lines, pumps, valves, tanks, and related equipment to identify issues early. Perform heavy equipment operation including loaders, and other construction machinery for minor repairs. Assist in construction projects related to water distribution or sewer system expansion while adhering to safety protocols. Conduct basic math calculations for measurements, flow rates, and other operational needs. Perform heavy lifting tasks safely during equipment installation or repair activities while following safety guidelines. Street repairs using cold mix and Durapatcher Vehicle maintenance City buildings maintenance and repairs Lawn care Qualifications Proven experience with equipment repair, heavy equipment operation, plumbing, or maintenance in municipal or industrial settings. Knowledge of water treatment processes, wastewater treatment systems, and related environmental regulations. Strong mechanical knowledge coupled with good analysis skills for troubleshooting issues. Ability to perform data collection accurately and interpret technical information effectively. Physical capability for heavy lifting, prolonged standing or walking, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to flow rates, measurements, and system adjustments. Valid driver's license with experience operating heavy machinery preferred; air brake endorsement is a plus. Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
