The Civil Rights Case Manager will provide supportive and administrative leadership to support UMBC's Office of Equity and Civil Rights (ECR). The Civil Rights Case Manager will have primary responsibilities for case intake and management. This position requires the ability to work with confidential and highly sensitive information and maintain confidentiality in compliance with university policies, procedures, and federal and state laws/regulations. The Civil Rights Case Manager will coordinate closely with the Senior Case Manager/Deputy Title IX Coordinator and/or the AVP for Equity and Civil Rights/Title IX Coordinator to conduct initial assessments of all reports of sexual misconduct, discrimination, and harassment and conduct intakes with individuals who make a report and/or disclosure. The Civil Rights Case Manager will serve as the primary resource for managing and ensuring all parties, including students, faculty, and staff, have access to the appropriate supportive measures and campus and/or community resources and will coordinate the follow up and monitoring of the individuals for any additional supportive measures or resource referrals. The Civil Rights Case Manager will maintain comprehensive documentation using a case management system and produce relevant data reports as needed. The Civil Rights Case Manager will build and maintain relationships with various campus departments, including but not limited to Student Affairs, Counseling Services, Health Services, University Police, Women's, Gender and Equity Center, Academic Departments, and will provide care and support as students, faculty, and staff navigate the resolution process.Required Minimum Qualifications:
Education Required:
Bachelor's degree preferably in social work, psychology or related field.Experience Required:
At least (1) year of experience working in Title IX and/or other civil rights related field. Demonstrated knowledge of civil rights/equal opportunity and other relevant laws such as Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, Clery Act, and VAWA. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management systems (e.g., Advocate, Maxient). Strong administrative skills to include the ability to track case progression, meet established timelines, maintain accurate and detailed records, and follow-up as needed. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail, organization, and project management. Keen interpersonal skills, cultural awareness, and sensitivity to interact, collaborate, establish rapport, and maintain productive working relationships with students, faculty, administrators, and staff who may be dealing with trauma and/or in crisis. Demonstrated ability to work with highly sensitive and private topics in a professional, confidential, unbiased, and trauma-informed manner. Demonstrated ability to share ideas, to be open to the ideas of others, and to work toward university and division goals and interests to include a demonstrated interest in fostering inclusive excellence.Preferred Qualifications:

Salary:
$77,000 - $87,000 depending on qualifications and experience. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. The above salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.Hours:
