Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a motivated Paraprofessional to assist teachers in delivering high-quality educational programs for young students. This role provides direct support to students in the classroom, small groups, and individualized settings, helping to reinforce learning objectives and promote positive behavior.
Schedule:
Part-time, 27.5 hours/week | Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
School Year:
2025-2026 academic calendar
Compensation:
$16.25 - $17.00 per hour Key Responsibilities Classroom Support & Student Assistance Assist teachers in delivering lesson plans and daily activities Support students in developing academic, social-emotional, communication, motor, sensory, and self-help skills Reinforce classroom learning in individual or small-group settings Observe and document student behavior, implementing prescribed behavior interventions when necessary Instructional Materials & Data Help create or adapt materials to support lesson objectives Collect and maintain data related to student progress as directed by teachers Participate in the development of IEPs as appropriate Collaboration & Communication Work closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to promote student success Communicate student progress and program information with families through verbal or written updates Attend team and planning meetings to contribute to program development Professional Development & Program Maintenance Participate in training, workshops, and conferences to enhance professional skills Assist in maintaining and cleaning classroom materials, equipment, and supplies Demonstrate ethical behavior, confidentiality, and cultural awareness in all interactions Qualifications & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent required Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred Ability to obtain all required background clearances (OCFS, DCJS, FBI, State Central Register, Justice Center) Authorization to work in the United States CPR and First Aid training (or willingness to obtain) Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Understanding of human growth and development, applied in educational settings Ability to follow oral and written instructions and comply with school policies Strong teamwork and collaboration skills Ability to meet schedules and deadlines Quick learner with flexibility in adapting to new methods and materials Ability to handle student behavior and respond appropriately to crisis situations Work Environment & Physical Requirements Frequent movement including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and assisting students Ability to lift and support students (up to 50 lbs) Exposure to moderate-to-high noise levels and varying weather conditions Potential exposure to bodily fluids or other materials Must respond appropriately to unpredictable student behavior The E.
