Job Title:
Clean Room Medical Tool Assembler Job Description This role involves assembling precision medical tools in a clean room environment using hand tools and specialized equipment. You will work with small components, follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and ensure each product meets strict quality and cleanliness standards. The position offers structured shifts with regular overtime opportunities in a highly controlled, safety-focused setting. Responsibilities Assemble medical tools and components in a clean room environment following established procedures and GMP standards. Use hand tools and small equipment to work with small parts and ensure accurate, high-quality assemblies. Inspect hex tips for quality, defects, and compliance with specifications before assembly. Insert hex tips into nose cones using a hydraulic press while maintaining precision and safety. Apply Teflon to clutches using a hydraulic press according to process and quality requirements. Assemble torque wrenches by following detailed work instructions and assembly steps. Install screws to complete the assembly process using a screw-down machine, ensuring secure and accurate fastening. Adjust torque on wrenches using a torque tester to confirm they meet specified torque settings. Install caps and any final components to complete the wrench assembly. Perform final cleaning of completed wrenches to meet clean room and medical device cleanliness standards. Package completed wrenches according to clean room and medical packaging requirements. Follow all clean room protocols, including gowning procedures and contamination control guidelines. Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle all tools and equipment safely and correctly. Communicate any defects, equipment issues, or process concerns to the appropriate personnel to support continuous quality improvement. Essential Skills Experience working in production or assembly environments. Ability to perform detailed assembly work with small parts and components. Familiarity with clean room practices and contamination control, including working in a controlled environment. Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in a production or medical setting. Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively for assembly tasks. Capability to operate basic production equipment such as hydraulic presses and screw-down machines. Comfort using inspection tools and following quality checks, including torque testing. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Ability to work on a set shift schedule with regular overtime as required. No specific certifications required. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in a medical device, clean room, or highly regulated production environment is beneficial. Experience working under microscopes or with other precision assembly tools is an advantage. Familiarity with torque wrenches or similar mechanical tools is helpful. Ability to work effectively as part of a production team and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors. Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling small parts. Willingness to strictly follow dress code and cleanliness standards required in clean room environments. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a clean room environment dedicated to assembling medical tools. Team members wear head gowns and full bunny suits to maintain strict cleanliness and contamination control. The dress code prohibits makeup, jewelry, and perfume to protect product integrity and comply with clean room standards. Work is performed on structured shifts: a first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with approximately two hours of overtime, and a second shift from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. with approximately two hours of overtime. You will use hand tools, hydraulic presses, screw-down machines, torque testers, and other production equipment while following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The facility emphasizes organization, cleanliness, and adherence to detailed procedures in a controlled, medical production setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newbury Park, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
