Job Description

The Clinical Nurse Manager provides day‑to‑day leadership and oversight of oncology and infusion services, managing human, financial, and technical resources to support exceptional patient outcomes. This leader promotes a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement while aligning departmental goals with the organization's mission, vision, and values. The ideal candidate is a confident nurse leader with strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for developing teams and improving patient care. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Staff Management Provide direct supervision and leadership to clinical staff, including staffing, scheduling, delegation, and performance management Recruit, retain, recognize, and develop high‑performing nursing staff Conduct regular staff meetings, coaching conversations, and annual performance evaluations Support professional growth through training, education, and career development planning Address performance concerns and difficult conversations with professionalism, respect, and objectivity Clinical & Quality Oversight Ensure delivery of safe, high‑quality patient care across oncology and infusion services Implement, maintain, and ensure staff compliance with oncology and infusion‑based policies and standards of practice Promote a culture of safety and support open, non‑punitive reporting of safety concerns Oversee infection control practices and environmental safety within the department Operations & Resource Management Manage departmental resources, including staffing levels, supplies, equipment, and workflows Assist with the development and management of the annual operating budget Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and adjust resource allocation as needed Recommend purchases of equipment and supplies necessary to support nursing services Patient & Customer Engagement Use patient and staff feedback to improve processes, patient satisfaction, and service delivery Address and resolve patient concerns and complaints effectively and in a timely manner Identify opportunities for service innovation and improvement Compliance, Systems & Strategy Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards Monitor departmental processes and patient flow, implementing corrective actions as needed Assist in developing and executing departmental tactical plans aligned with organizational strategy Measure outcomes, analyze gaps, and recommend improvements to leadership Collaboration & Representation Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Pharmacy, Medical Surgical, Emergency Care, and Specialty Services Partner with external organizations such as regional cancer centers and tumor registries Serve as a nursing representative on hospital committees and professional organizations Function as an EHR super‑user, collaborating with Clinical Education and IT for training and optimization
Working Hours:
This is a full time in person position M-F.
