In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive eye care services, including vision assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for a diverse patient population. Your expertise will help improve patients' quality of life by ensuring optimal visual health through thorough examinations and personalized care. You'll deliver exceptional patient care by leveraging advanced technology, including Clarus widefield imaging, OCT, and a full suite of specialty contact lens options. The ideal candidate is passionate about patient care, possesses strong knowledge of ophthalmology and physiology, and is committed to delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. To help everyone enjoy a little more balance in life, we're open Monday through Friday and keep weekends free. Responsibilities Conduct detailed eye examinations using advanced diagnostic tools to assess visual acuity, ocular health, and overall eye function. Diagnose and manage a wide range of eye conditions, including refractive errors, ocular diseases, and pediatrics-related issues. Prescribe corrective lenses, medications, or referrals to specialists as needed to optimize patient outcomes. Maintain accurate and thorough medical records utilizing Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on eye health, proper contact lens use, and preventive measures to promote long-term ocular wellness. Collaborate with optical staff to recommend suitable eyewear solutions and assist in sales efforts when appropriate. Follow aseptic techniques during examinations and procedures to ensure patient safety and infection control. Qualifications Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program with valid licensure to practice as a Clinical Optometrist. Strong knowledge of ophthalmology principles, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye care. Experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems for documentation and medical coding purposes. Excellent patient care skills with a focus on customer service and effective communication. Familiarity with medical records management, vital signs measurement, and HIPAA compliance standards.
