Clinical Pharmacist in Dowagiac, MI

Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract An inpatient pharmacist opportunity is available for a 13-week contract beginning June 1st. This role supports hospital pharmacy services with a focus on clinical inpatient care and medication management. Candidates will be based near Elkhart, IN, just outside South Bend, IN, with the facility located in Dowagiac, MI.

Schedule Options:

Day Shift:

6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Day/Evening Shift:

11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Responsibilities:

Perform order verification using Cerner Meds Manager in the Cerner EMR system Manage inpatient pharmacy distribution and maintain accurate medication records Prepare IV medications in the IV room, including antibiotics, anticoagulants, and electrolytes Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective medication use

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

Proficiency with Cerner order verification required Experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy settings preferred Familiarity with Pyxis medication dispensing systems and Pharmacy Keeper software Knowledge of hospital-based IV medication preparation and handling New graduates are welcome if Cerner order verification experience is demonstrated Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility This contract position offers the chance to engage in clinical pharmacy practice within a hospital environment and sharpen skills with leading pharmacy technologies.
