  • Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract This long-term care clinical pharmacist opportunity is based in Kittanning, PA, offering a one-month contract with the possibility of extension.
The role focuses on supporting skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care through precise medication management and professional consultation.
Schedule and Hours:
40 hours per week Pharmacy hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM
  • 6:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM
  • 4:00 PM, Sunday 8:00 AM
  • 3:00
PM Key Responsibilities:
Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for long-term care and hospice patients Review blister-packed medications as well as sterile and non-sterile preparations Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance Count and document controlled substances in the perpetual inventory system Inspect emergency medication boxes regularly
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy Licensed and registered pharmacist in good standing with the Pennsylvania State Board Minimum of one year pharmacy experience; long-term care experience preferred Proficient with pharmacy operating systems including QS1, Docutrack, and PCC Physical ability to sit or stand for extended periods, perform fine motor tasks, and lift up to 30 pounds Excellent visual acuity for meticulous medication checking This contract role suits pharmacists with a dedicated approach to patient safety and medication accuracy in long-term care settings.
