PAY RANGE CNA

SUMMARY Provides direct patient care as a Certified Nursing Assistant on nursing float assignments. Performs ADLs, collects health data, documents care, supports patient safety, and communicates with licensed nurses and the care team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provides patient care based on standards of care, protocols, and policies under direction of a licensed nurse. Collects basic health data as directed by a licensed nurse. Assists patients with personal hygiene, toileting, nutrition, ambulation, and other ADLs. Prioritizes patient care and seeks appropriate assistance or emergency intervention as needed. Respects patient dignity and provides compassionate care. Documents pertinent patient information thoroughly and timely per standards. Maintains clean and safe work environment and identifies/removes safety hazards. Provides timely information on assigned patients to supervising licensed nurse and team members. Participates in learning, in-services, and orientation of new staff. Identifies risks to patient safety and reports errors/incidents appropriately. Assists with heights/weights, ambulation (gait belt), transfers, incontinent care, feeding, I&O and vital signs per care plan. Maintains infection control precautions per policy.

FUNCTIONAL DEMANDS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Exerts 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. Frequently kneels, reaches, and feels; occasionally crouches and stoops.

QUALIFICATIONS/MINIMUM EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE

1 year preferred.

MINIMUM LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS

Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification required OR Minimum 75 hours in accredited nursing program with first rotation completed OR Active EMT/Paramedic, Patient Care Technician/Assistant, or Home Health Aide certification

OR AHA CPR

certification obtained within 60 days of hire OR Previous Massachusetts CNA licensure or equivalent out-of-state certification.
