Job Description

Shift:
8x5 or 4x10
Pay Range:
$22-35 /hr (Based on Level/Experience)
The Opportunity:
Level Up Your Career Are you a CNC Operator or Machinist who is tired of just "loading parts"? If you have the basics down and are ready to learn high-level setups on 5-axis mills, mill-turns and swiss-type machines , we want to talk to you. We are looking for a Level 2 or Level 3 Machinist who wants to transition from basic operation to complex process ownership. You'll be working with a lead mentor on some of the best equipment in the industry—including Hurco, Okuma, and Citizen . We don't just want a button-pusher; we want someone who wants to eventually become shift lead.
What You'll Be Doing Machine Operation:
Run production on Okuma Lathes, and Hurco 5-Axis Mills , ensuring parts meet blueprint specs. The "Swiss"
Transition:
Learn to operate and maintain Citizen swiss turn machines (we will train the right Level 2 candidate on swiss specifics).
Setup Assistance:
Work alongside our Lead Machinists to perform setups, change tools, and touch off offsets.
Quality & Inspection:
Use standard shop tools (calipers, mics, and height gauges, etc.) to perform in-process inspections.
Problem Solving:
Identify when a tool is getting dull or a dimension is drifting and make the necessary offset adjustments.
What We're Looking For Experience:
2-5 years in a CNC shop environment.
Technical Foundation:
You know your way around a blueprint and understand basic G-code .
Tooling Knowledge:
You understand the difference between a carbide end mill and a drill and know when a tool sounds "off."
Ambition:
You have an interest in learning Hurco WinMax or Okuma OSP controls. (Programming experience is a huge plus, but we can help you get there).
Precision:
You understand that "close enough" isn't an option when tolerances are 5-10 microns. Why Join Our Team?
Training-First Culture:
We don't expect you to know everything on Day 1. We provide mentorship and will help you grow your skills.
Modern Equipment:
You won't be fighting 30-year-old "clunker" machines. Our floor is filled with late-model, high-precision tech.
Clean & Safe:
A well-lit, climate-controlled shop where safety and organization are top priorities.
Growth Path:
Clear milestones to move from Level 2 to Level 3, and eventually to Lead/Programmer roles. How to Apply Ready to take the next step in your machining career? Apply with a resume and tell us which machine you're most excited to learn. jobs@mag7machining.com
