Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The CNC Machinist Programmer is responsible for supporting the daily operation, organization, and maintenance of the machine shop and tool room. This position supports manufacturing operations through the setup, programming, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of CNC and manual machining equipment. The role is responsible for producing and repairing tooling, maintaining tooling inventory and shop supplies, coordinating tooling purchases with Purchasing, and fabricating replacement equipment components as needed to support production uptime and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong machining knowledge, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set up, operate, program, troubleshoot, and maintain CNC machining equipment and manual shop equipment.
  • Support daily operation of two CNC machines to meet production requirements.
  • Design, manufacture, modify, and repair production tooling, molds, dies, fixtures, and machine components.
  • Produce replacement equipment parts and support emergency machine repairs when required.
  • Utilize CAD/CAM software to create tooling designs and machining programs.
  • Coordinate tooling, consumables, and shop supply purchases with Purchasing and approved vendors.
  • Maintain tooling inventory, spare components, raw materials, and machine shop stock levels using company inventory systems.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with print specifications, tolerances, QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 5 years of machining, tool room, or CNC manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Prior experience operating and programming CNC mills and manual machining equipment.
  • Experience in tooling fabrication, repair, and maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with CAD/CAM software and blueprint interpretation.
  • Working knowledge of machining practices, cutting tools, feeds/speeds, tooling applications, and machining tolerances.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in rubber mold manufacturing, silicone tooling, or compression molding environments.
  • Experience with fixture design and custom tooling fabrication.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and 5S/6S systems.
  • CNC programming experience using Mastercam or similar CAM software.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
