Job Description

Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled CNC Maintenance professional to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair CNC machines and related production equipment. The ideal candidate will ensure maximum machine uptime, perform preventative maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and support continuous improvement efforts. This role requires strong CNC and PLC experience and the ability to collaborate closely with production, engineering, and safety teams.

Key ResponsibilitiesPerform scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections on CNC machines and support equipment to maximize uptime and reliability.

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues on CNC equipment, including PLCs and servo drives.

Read and interpret electrical schematics, PLC ladder logic, mechanical drawings, and machine manuals to identify faults and implement repairs.

Perform alignment, calibration, and setup of machine axes, spindles, tooling systems, and part fixtures to maintain manufacturing tolerances.

Replace and repair components such as bearings, gears, pumps, motors, belts, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical components.

Implement and update machine PLC programs and parameters in coordination with engineering to resolve control issues and optimize performance.

Respond to machine breakdowns and provide timely repairs, including after-hours/on-call support when required to minimize production interruptions.

Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, parts inventories, and machine logs in computer systems.

Collaborate with production and engineering to lead root-cause analysis, continuous improvement projects, and cost-reduction initiatives.

Ensure compliance with safety procedures, lockout/tagout, and plant standards while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or electrical/mechanical technology preferred.

Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in CNC machine maintenance and troubleshooting with documented experience working with CNC controls.

Proven experience with PLCsprogramming, troubleshooting, and interpreting ladder logic and I/O diagnostics.

Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills: motors, drives, bearings, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics, and sensors.

Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical prints, and machine manuals; strong hand tools and precision measurement skills.

Comfortable working with 3-phase electrical systems and experience with high-voltage equipment; experience with 480V systems is a plus.

Excellent communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.

Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and work flexible hours to support production needs.
Nice-to-have:
experience with Okuma, Toyoda, Mori, Mazak, Hwacheon CNC platforms; hands-on plumbing and HVAC repair experience.
