The Affiliate Relations Manager serves as the primary representative for Focus on the Family's broadcast placement across radio station relationships. This role manages program releases and rates, station agreements, communication workflows, media performance analysis, promotional support, and affiliate-facing content distribution. The manager ensures accurate station data, upholds brand consistency, supports budget oversight, and maintains strategic engagement with both domestic and international station partners. This position also functions as a key liaison between Focus on the Family and multiple internal departments as well as its distribution partners.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Station & Affiliate Relationship Management:
Serves as representative for all Focus broadcast placement across all radio station relationships Maintains documentation for all station additions, deletions, and changes Ensures all station data, including contacts, emails, and technical details, is accurate and consistently updated Maintains centralized summaries of all station and client interactions for internal visibility Conducts follow-up with stations designated on the "critical list" and initiate corrective engagement as needed Reviews program content when necessary to address affiliate questions, sensitivities, or concerns
Media Budget & Rate Negotiation:
Manages the Focus media budget with monthly tracking and review summaries for leadership Conducts all paid media rate negotiations, including all network commitments Evaluates station value using audience metrics, performance history, and additional contributing factors Performs regular analysis of paid station performance and generate monthly reporting
Reporting & Analysis:
Prepares monthly reports analyzing station performance, affiliate activity, and paid media effectiveness Develops comprehensive station network profiles using audience and distribution data Actively reviews broadcast and Christian media industry news to ensure the ministry remains informed and proactive
Communication & Content Distribution:
Oversees all communication channels to affiliates, including sensitive program updates Ensures all communications and assets conform to Focus brand guidelines
Promotional & Resource Support:
Coordinates promotional support for affiliates, including promos, resources, custom spots, and toolkit assets
Cross Departmental & External Partnership Coordination:
Collaborates with Marketing and Social Media teams to ensure audio content and affiliate needs are aligned with ministry strategies Serves as liaison to Amb-OS and Focus Broadcast Support for distribution coordination and issue resolution Manages international station relations Engages in planning for major events
Industry Engagement & Representation:
Develops schedules and represents Focus at NRB (National Religious Broadcasters) and other industry gatherings as needed Maintains awareness of industry trends, station movements, market shifts, and emerging opportunities within Christian media

Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Media, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience 4-6 years of experience in affiliate relations, media operations, broadcast placement, or similar partnership focused roles Strong working knowledge of Focus on the Family's mission, values, ministry goals, and broadcast strategies Familiarity with radio broadcast environments, station operations, and media distribution systems Experience analyzing media performance data (including Nielsen) and generating insights for leadership or stakeholders Knowledge of paid media rate negotiation, value assessment, and budget oversight Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and SharePoint Experience managing high-volume communication workflows, partner documentation, and station databases Understanding of brand compliance principles and affiliate facing communication standards Experience engaging with industry networks, conferences (e.g., NRB), and professional media gatherings

Pay Range:
$66,456 to $79,587
