Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join our team in Minnesota in a contract capacity with the potential for a permanent role. This position supports mortgage and consumer collection activities through account follow-up, delinquency review, documentation handling, and compliance-focused communication. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage sensitive financial information while delivering accurate and timely support.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct outbound outreach to customers based on delinquency and account status reports to help resolve past-due balances.
  • Review accounts to identify appropriate collection or loss mitigation next steps and document activity with accuracy.
  • Prepare and send required notices, letters, and supporting documentation in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory expectations.
  • Maintain complete and up-to-date records of collection efforts, delinquency status, and account-level actions.
  • Communicate with investors, insurers, and other external partners regarding loan status, workout activity, foreclosure alternatives, bankruptcy matters, and related collection issues.
  • Assist with modification request processing and ensure reporting is completed correctly for applicable loan programs.
  • Compile delinquency and portfolio reports for leadership, investors, and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Support training efforts for new or existing team members and contribute to the achievement of departmental performance goals.
  • Stay informed on consumer protection requirements, mortgage servicing standards, and company policies while safeguarding confidential information.
