Commercial Caulking Technician

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Caulking Technician to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying high-quality caulking and sealants to various commercial building projects, ensuring structures are weatherproofed, energy-efficient, and aesthetically finished. Your expertise will contribute to the durability and integrity of commercial facades, windows, doors, and interior finishes. Duties Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure optimal caulking adhesion and finish quality. Apply caulking sealants accurately along joints, seams, and gaps in building exteriors and interiors using hand tools and power tools. Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to identify caulking specifications and project requirements. Operate heavy equipment and scaffolding safely to access hard-to-reach areas on large-scale commercial projects. Collaborate with construction management teams to coordinate schedules, inspect work quality, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Assist in the fabrication and installation of trim carpentry, stucco, masonry, or other finishing elements as needed. Conduct construction inspection tasks to verify that caulking work meets project specifications and industry standards. Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and project progress using Bluebeam or similar digital tools. Qualifications Proven experience in construction site work with a focus on caulking or sealing applications. Strong knowledge of construction management principles, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction estimating. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding setup, heavy equipment operation, and safety protocols on construction sites. Experience with related trades such as plumbing, electrical work, carpentry (including trim carpentry), roofing, masonry, or restoration is highly desirable. Ability to read technical drawings accurately and follow detailed instructions for precise application of sealants. Knowledge of various materials including concrete forming compounds, plastering compounds, glass installation techniques, fixture installation methods, flooring installation processes, tile laying procedures, and welding is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting issues on-site. Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and project managers effectively.
