Job Description

Lead Controls Engineer - Allen-Bradley PLC Overview We are working with a growing engineering-driven organization seeking a Controls Engineer to support the full lifecycle of industrial control systems and panel-based solutions used in fluid handling and process applications. This role blends design, programming, testing, and cross-functional support across pre-sales, production, and post-installation efforts. Key Responsibilities Partner with a multidisciplinary team to support electrical and controls design for new products, custom solutions, and ongoing product improvements Develop and program PLC-based control systems for OEM equipment Perform control system design tasks including load calculations, component selection, and control panel layout Create and maintain AutoCAD Electrical drawings, schematics, and complete design packages Develop and execute test procedures for both hardware and software validation Generate technical documentation including bills of materials, system manuals, installation guides, and sequences of operation Support manufacturing teams with production drawings and training as needed Provide technical support across departments including project management, sales, and operations Identify opportunities for product enhancements, cost reduction, and overall system optimization Manage multiple projects while ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and specifications Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience Minimum of 3+ years of relevant engineering experience (or 10+ years of related technical experience) Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical Experience with industrial control panels and UL standards Working knowledge of PLC programming (ladder logic, function block) Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM) Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Effective communication skills and ability to work across teams Preferred Experience Familiarity with UL 508A standards Experience with PLC platforms such as Rockwell, Siemens, Unitronics, or Codesys-based systems Additional Details Full-time, Monday-Friday schedule Competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off Located in Southwest Florida How to Apply Send resumes to Patrick DelGaone at PD@LibertyJobs.com #Controls #Midsenior #Libertyjobs #engjobs1776
