JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for underwriting and managing an investment portfolio of loans and equity investments issued to renewable energy projects across the country. The position entails underwriting new debt and equity investments primarily within the solar, wind and hydro renewable energy spaces, as well as managing the investment in the projects throughout its lifecycle. This candidate may also be exposed to similar functions on new multifamily real estate and tax equity financing opportunities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Process, analyze and structure complex real estate and renewable energy transactions on a national basis. This includes working with borrowers through all stages of the financing process from assisting with applications, conducting financial analysis, underwriting loans, preparing documentation for loan approval, presenting proposals for approval and supporting the drafting of commitment letters and loan documents. Identify, decipher and manage internal and external risks of the transaction. Negotiate legal documents, transact with attorneys, borrowers and other lenders and equity investors. Interact directly with clients, investors, industry professionals and senior management to ensure seamless and high quality service. Prepare and present formal credit committee memorandums and/or reports to investors and clients. Manage and monitor existing portfolio assets, client relationships and performance trends.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education:
Real Estate/Finance focus; Master's degree a plus; Renewable Energy Finance a plus; Bachelor's degree required.
Job Experience:
Underwriting, asset management, loan transactions, tax equity and structuring experience beneficial.
Certification:
CPA, CFA, CCIM or similar designations helpful, but not required.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Strong analytical ability including financial analysis, understanding of partnership structures. Strong understanding of credit analysis, loan structuring and equity partnerships with attention to detail required. Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills. Ability to work both independently and as a team member. Strong time management and multi-tasking abilities. Ability to lightly travel to national sites to visit clients, perform site inspections or participate in industry conferences. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Please submit a resume of work history, including a cover letter with salary requirements.
