Job Description

The estimator will work closely with the Chief Project Officer, the Field Service Manager, the Warehouse Manager, the other estimators, and any others needed to complete competitive bids, design-builds, and conceptual estimates. The estimator's primary focus will be projects involving plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, but experience in other areas is also needed. Qualifications •Required Skills Ability to read and interpret technical documents Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Exceptional time management skills Must be able to manage multiple projects at the same time Excellent attention to detail Must understand the processes and sequencing of construction Familiarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects Must be able to navigate and understand building codes. •
Required Experience:
Minimum of ten (10) years of construction experience Five (5) years of estimating experience MEP systems knowledge •Required Education, Training, Licensure College degree preferred, but not required Valid Indiana or Ohio Driver's License or the ability to obtain one Responsibilities/Duties Analyze documents, blueprints and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project Determine what factors will influence the cost of a service or product Prepare material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service Develop and maintain relationships with company vendors and contractors Manage bids from vendors and contractors Present prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders Compile and record actual costs Resolves cost differences by analyzing and collecting info. Writes up and presents budgets, reports, and project plans. Develops bids for construction projects. Works closely with architects and other professionals. Schedules meetings with clients, site managers, and staff. Processes paperwork and travels to building sites as required. Monitors construction processes. Stays up to date with safety codes and improvements in construction. Working Conditions:
Will be working both indoors and outdoors. Must be able to handle extreme weather conditions. May be required to work outside of normal working hours when needed.
