Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Die Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing die tools and equipment used in metal stamping, plastics injection molding, and other precision manufacturing processes. Your expertise will ensure that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely by performing detailed inspections, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and cutting-edge fabrication techniques in a dynamic environment dedicated to quality and innovation. Duties Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on dies used in die cast equipment. Operate precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure die components meet strict tolerances. Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings (GD&T), and mechanical diagrams to facilitate accurate repairs or modifications. Utilize hand tools, welding equipment and fabrication tools, and stamping presses to assemble or repair die components with precision. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, schematics updates, and repair logs for quality assurance purposes. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize tooling performance and implement process improvements that enhance productivity. Experience Proven experience in die maintenance or tooling repair within a manufacturing environment involving stamping presses or plastics injection molding machines. Familiarity with GD&T standards for precise measurement and quality control of die parts. Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, micrometers, and other measurement tools. Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication, assembly, welding techniques TIG) , tooling design, and machine setup. Ability to read schematics and electrical diagrams for troubleshooting electrical components of dies or machinery. Experience working with aluminum die cast molding processes is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
