Job Description
Davis & Towle Insurance Group is a well‑established, growing independent insurance agency with more than 150 employees across 14 office locations throughout New Hampshire. We are seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Manager to lead our Concord-based Commercial Lines department and help guide the continued evolution of our commercial operations agency‑wide. This is a senior‑level leadership role suited for a collaborative, forward‑thinking insurance professional who enjoys mentoring experienced teams, strengthening workflows, and partnering with leadership to continuously improve how work gets done. About the Role The Commercial Lines Manager will oversee a growing department consisting of 8 Commercial Lines Account Managers and 7 Producers in our main office in Concord, NH, while also playing a key leadership role across all 14 Davis & Towle offices. This position balances people leadership, operational oversight, strategic planning, and carrier relationship management. You'll work closely with executive leadership, producers, IT, and operations teams to ensure consistency, best practices, and continued modernization of our commercial lines platform. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and support an experienced Commercial Lines service and producer team based in Concord Provide oversight and guidance for Commercial Lines operations across all 14 office locations, ensuring consistent standards, workflows, and best practices Play an active role in staff training, education, and professional development, including onboarding and ongoing skill building Assist with the development, refinement, and documentation of workflows, including the thoughtful integration of AI and automation tools Serve as a member of the Agency IT Committee, contributing input on systems, efficiencies, and technology initiatives Foster and maintain strong carrier relationships, working collaboratively to support underwriting success and long‑term partnerships Act as a trusted internal resource for complex commercial accounts, escalations, and problem‑solving Promote a collaborative, solutions‑oriented culture aligned with Davis & Towle's values and long‑term vision Qualifications & Experience Senior‑level experience in Commercial Lines insurance, preferably within an independent agency environment Prior experience managing experienced account managers strongly preferred Demonstrated ability to lead teams across multiple locations and drive consistency at scale Working knowledge of Applied Epic (experience strongly preferred) Strong understanding of commercial lines workflows, carrier expectations, and agency operations Collaborative, approachable leadership style with a focus on solutions and continuous improvement Comfortable participating in strategic discussions related to operations, technology, and process improvement Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship‑management skills Why Davis & Towle?
