Job Description

Join CVEC as a Communication Intern (Seasonal) in Lovingston, VA, and enjoy an exciting summer experience! This onsite position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the Communications Department in their day-to-day operations that help support our electric cooperative. You'll gain hands-on experience in public relations, member communications and content development, all while collaborating with skilled professionals in a supportive environment. At $20/hour, you'll earn competitive pay while contributing to vital services that positively impact the community. to embark on a rewarding summer job that enhances both your skills and our cooperative.
COMMUNICATION INTERN
(SEASONAL)
Responsibilities:
Assist with employee, community, and cooperative events (setup, support, breakdown) Support logistics for board meetings and internal meetings Work community events as a cooperative representative Capture photos/videos for newsletters, social media, and communications Proofread and edit documents for accuracy and consistency Assist with drafting and formatting communications materials Perform basic administrative tasks, including mail distribution and errands Participate in field visits and support special projects
Qualifications:
Student or recent graduate in Communications, PR, Marketing, or related field Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills Basic photography and social media knowledge preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office; Canva/Adobe a plus Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks Valid driver's permit required Flexible schedule required, including occasional evenings and weekends
Schedule:
