! Do you have a passion for making a difference in the lives of others, especially those in need of community-based health and wellness services? If so, we would love to have you as part of the growing Renewing Hope Family Counseling Center's Team! Our approach to care is multi-faceted/our clinical and community health team consists of psychiatrists, psychiatric NP's, therapists, and community health professionals. We function as a network of in-person outpatient services fused with remote telehealth offerings. We credential all of our providers with insurance panels in order to increase access and affordability to essential mental and community preventative health services!
Responsibilities:
As a Mental Health Navigator in our clinic, you will be responsible for providing preventive health services to prevent disease, disability, and other health conditions or their progression; to prolong life, and to promote physical and mental health. Through community connection and engagement, you will assist in providing equitable healthcare services through culturally competent services. Looking to make a difference please apply!
Qualifications/Required Experience:
We will consider candidates who demonstrate and maintain evidence of minimum qualifications through several pathways including, but not limited to:
Community Health Workers Certificate:
A valid certificate of completion of a curriculum that attests to demonstrated skills and/or practical training in the following areas: communication, interpersonal and relationship building, service coordination and navigation, capacity building, advocacy, education and facilitation, individual and community assessment, professional skills and conduct, outreach, evaluation and research, and basic knowledge in public health principles and social drivers of health. Certificate programs must also include field experience as a requirement.
Violence Prevention Professional Certificate:
For individuals providing violence prevention services ONLY , a Violence Prevention Professional Certificate issued by Health Alliance for Violence Intervention or a certificate of completion in gang intervention training from the Urban Peace Institute. A Mental Health Navigator providing services other than violence prevention services must demonstrate qualification through either the Work Experience Pathway or by completion of a General Certificate.
Work Experience Pathway:
An individual who has at least 2,000 hours working as a Mental Health Navigator in paid or volunteer positions within the previous three years and has demonstrated skills and practical training in the areas described above, may provide Mental Health Navigator services without a certificate of completion for a maximum period of 18 months. A certificate of completion must be provided within 18 months of the first Mental Health Navigator/Provider visit provided to a client. Mental Health Navigators must complete a minimum of six hours of additional relevant training annually. Renewing Hope Family Counseling Center, Inc. may provide and/or require additional training, as needed. Must have lived experience that aligns with and provides a connection between the Mental Health Navigator and the client or population being served. This may include experience related to incarceration, military service, pregnancy and birth, disability, foster system placement, homelessness, mental health conditions or substance use, or being a survivor of domestic or intimate partner violence or abuse and exploitation. Lived experience may also include shared race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, language, or cultural background with one or more linguistic, cultural, or other groups in the community for which the Mental Health Navigator is providing services.
