COMMUNITY SUPPORT SPECIALIST FLATHEAD VALLEY REENTRY CENTER KALISPELL, MT
The Montana Department of Corrections (DOC) is creating a safer Montana through Accountability, Rehabilitation and Empowerment. The Community Support Specialist is a key frontline role that ensures the daily operations of the FVRC run safely, smoothly, and with resident success at the forefront. In this position, you will help create a structured, supportive environment that promotes positive reentry outcomes and community well‑being. Your role as a Community Support Specialist includes but it not limited to: Schedule and provide daily transportation for residents to and from employment sites, medical appointments, and other program‑approved activities. Conduct wellness and accountability checks at resident workplaces. Manage resident check‑ins and check‑outs in accordance with facility policy. Perform routine room, facility and Resident Offender searches to ensure safety and compliance. Answer and route incoming calls with professionalism and accuracy. Staff the front desk and maintain a secure, welcoming reception area. Support general facility operations and contribute to program objectives as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
The knowledge, skills and abilities for this position are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to: High School diploma or equivalency required Strong communication and interpersonal skill Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to work independently and as part of a team Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
