Job Description Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia's capital city and five nearby counties. Reynolds is currently seeking applicants for a Composition Readiness (EDE) Instructor position which will be assigned to the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), this position has a Fall 2026 semester start date. This position will primarily be located on the College's Parham Road Campus. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. KSA's/Required Qualifications Master's degree in English, or a master's degree in any field with 18 graduate semester hours in English.
Strong written and oral communication skills. Additional Considerations The equivalent of at least two years, full-time post-secondary teaching experience in teaching English with a strong preference for experience in developmental/ corequisite English.
Demonstrated community college teaching experience.
Demonstrated ability to scaffold and differentiate instruction to support student success.
Demonstrated ability to incorporate technology routinely into instructional and faculty responsibilities, including use of the Canvas (LMS) Learning Management System for online learning development/teaching.
Documented training in and experience teaching in various modes: in-person, online, hybrid, and HyFlex.
Substantial evidence of involvement in college-related activities beyond the classroom, including committee service, student advising, faculty governance, and institutional initiatives. Experience with student learning outcome assessment and program assessment.
Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with multi-cultural populations that support diversity, cultural understanding and inclusion. Operation of a State Vehicle No
