Compounding Pharmacy Technician Job Summary:
Under the guidance of a licensed Pharmacist, the Compounding Technician I works in a clean room environment, compounding medications at least 50% of the time to ensure smooth and accurate compounding operations. This role is essential for maintaining high standards of safety and precision in medication preparation.Key Responsibilities:
Prescription Compounding, Preparation, & Processing:
Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications and supplies according to Option Care Health policies and state regulations. Ensure medications are accurately compounded and labeled. Perform basic pharmaceutical calculations to obtain correct dosages. Participate in the management and reporting of medication-related incidents.Site & Supplies/Equipment Maintenance:
Clean and sanitize pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods regularly. Inspect equipment and document any failures or defects. Record and maintain pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs.Basic Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED.Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.Licensure:
Must be licensed or registered (if required by the state).Skills:
Customer service experience, ensuring quality standards and customer satisfaction. Proficiency in basic and intermediate mathematical calculations. Strong organizational skills. Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Physical Demands:
Ability to stand for extended periods. Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching. Ability to lift and carry at least 30 lbs.Preferred Qualifications:
Successful enrollment and completion of Option Care Health's designated training course within 6 months of hire (if required by state regulations). Previous healthcare or pharmacy technician experience is preferred.What We Offer To You:
