Primary Job Function:
The Reynoldsburg City Schools' Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality technical and academic instruction to prepare students for successful employment, industry-recognized credentialing, and ongoing postsecondary education. The educator creates a safe, positive classroom and laboratory environment that fosters problem-solving, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills while maintaining strong relationships with business and community stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
Professional Experience:
Proven industry experience in a relevant career field (e.g., Construction, Manufacturing, IT, or Health Sciences).
Licensure:
Must hold or be eligible for one of the following Ohio Department of Education credentials:
Standard Licenses:
Middle Childhood (4-9), Adolescent/Young Adult (7-12), or appropriate Multi-Age licensure.
Career-Tech:
Valid Career-Technical license.
Alternative Pathways:
Eligibility for an Alternative Resident Educator License.
Professional Conduct:
Demonstrated commitment to established ethics, school policies, and legal codes of conduct.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Project-Based Learning (PBL), STEM, or inquiry-based instructional models. Specialized certification or coursework (e.g., Career Technical Education). Demonstrated ability to support student behavior using restorative and trauma-informed practices. Active participation in local, state, or national professional associations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Instructional Planning & Curriculum:
Develop short
  • and long-term standards-based plans, including courses of study, unit plans, and lesson plans that integrate academic rigor and employability skills.
Classroom & Laboratory Management:
Create and maintain a safe, respectful learning environment where students safely operate equipment and follow emergency protocols.
Student Engagement & Mentorship:
Utilize Career-Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) and work-based learning opportunities to reinforce classroom instruction and promote 21st-century skills.
Assessment & Data Analysis:
Utilize a variety of diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments to monitor student progress toward mastery and set students up for success on WebXam and credentialing exams.
Program Growth & Recruitment:
Actively recruit for and market the CTE program to all student populations, collaborating with parents, business leaders, and advisory committees to ensure program relevance.
Inclusion & Differentiation:
Use tools and strategies to meet the needs of a diverse student population, differentiating instructional materials and classroom environments to ensure equitable outcomes for all students. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of:
Career Field Technical Content Standards and Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession. Current industry trends, techniques, and safety procedures specific to the career pathway. Learning theories and strategies for working with special populations and diverse subgroups. Depth of Knowledge (DOK) levels and inquiry-based instructional strategies. Skilled in:
Instructing:
Selecting and using training methods appropriate for the situation when teaching new technical concepts.
Active Listening:
Giving full attention to students and stakeholders to understand points being made and ask appropriate questions.
Communication:
Communicating professionally and effectively with students, parents, administrators, and community stakeholders.
Critical Thinking:
Using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems. Ability to: Develop intellectually challenging projects that require higher-order reasoning. Analyze student assessment data to reflect on and modify the teaching-learning cycle. Foster positive rapport and mentor students in planning individualized work-based learning programs. Collaborate across academic disciplines and with postsecondary institutions to create career pathways.

While performing the duties of this job the employee must be able to push, pull, lift and carry over 25 pounds on occasion. Working Conditions
