Job Description
- Trains and evaluates staff performance, both formally and informally, and documents supervisions. Works directly with the Milieu Director on any necessary disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Implements agency and program policies and procedures.
- Ensures group and student living spaces are orderly and therapeutic. This includes all necessary signage is posted and bulletin boards are refreshed.
- Oversees that day-to-day programming is being implemented with fidelity including but not limited to ADLs, social calls, and checklist completion.
- Supports new staff training by ensuring orientation schedules are followed. Ensures that subordinates are current on all required trainings.
- Provides direct therapeutic care to the residents and crisis intervention including the use of seclusion and restraints; assumes a leadership role in managing emergency situations through modeling and coaching.
- In conjunction with the Milieu Director, plans processing work for students out of group. Ensure processing work is completed.
- Complete monthly P-card expense reports.
- Communicates dormitory supply and maintenance needs to the Milieu Director.
- Approves timesheet submissions for subordinate(s).
- Ensures all incident reports and other required documentation are completed prior to end of shift. This includes but is not limited to daily logs, evening shift reports, damage assessment reports, call logs, and health watch reports.
- Ensures any necessary staff de-briefing is completed and documented, as needed, prior to end of shift.
- Implements behavior management system. Collaborates with the Milieu Director to gauge the effectiveness of behavior management strategies, implementing any changes as agreed upon.
- Supports and implements any necessary group interventions (e.g., dorm slow down).
- Implements therapeutic activities. May also be asked to plan group activities.
- Participates in committee meetings (e.g., treatment team, training, etc.), as assigned.
- Authors and/or assigns Monthly Reports, ensuring completion by due date.
- Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications
- Equivalent to two years of college and/or two years' + childcare experience in a residential setting with similar population of children
- Supervisory experience helpful
- Computer literate including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer with the ability to learn new software applications Driving Requirements
- May be required to operate a vehicle.
- May be required to have a valid driver's license and a "satisfactory" driving record.
- May be required to have access to a personal vehicle for use during work hours.
- May be required to use personal vehicle to transport clients on occasion if/when needed.
- If required to transport clients, must maintain the minimum amounts of liability insurance as required by The Home and/or other regulatory requirements and vehicle registration must be current.
