If this sounds like a culture you would like to work in, you're invited to apply for this role. ## Job Description The Construction Engineering Manager (CEM) IV provides oversight for all engineering activities on mega projects or key, strategic projects.
- Establish and execute the construction engineering program, including the exchange of engineering information among the client, design engineer, and company project team; ensure effective communication and the addressing and tracking of needs, requirements, and issues
- Manage the construction engineering department including staffing and supervising the activities and performance of the department; provide guidance to, as well as training and development of, construction engineering personnel
- Interpret the intent and requirements of the design documents; ensure design drawings are reviewed for completeness and constructability; and ensure drawings are marked-up and information provided as required for the preparation of as-built drawings
- Participate in pre-construction planning efforts during the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and development phases of projects, including the coordination and implementation of the constructability review program
- Other duties as assigned ## Basic Job Requirements
- Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and twenty (20) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twenty-four (24) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner ## Other Job Requirements
- Prepare all Fluor and/or client requisitions and job descriptions required for staffing open positions located within his/her organization
- Stay current with technical developments in area of expertise through continuing education, conferences, and periodicals, and continues to develop in-depth specialization
- Provide recommendations for salary increases and promotions for construction engineering staff
- Act as interim Construction Manager/Site Manager, if required
- Participate in Fluor University and other avenues for self development and the development of the construction engineering staff ## Preferred Qualifications
- Construction Management degree or global equivalent
- Typically has twenty (20) years of field project experience
- Thorough working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures
- Advanced computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the advanced use of spreadsheets and electronic presentations
