Construction Estimator

Duties Develop comprehensive construction estimates by reviewing project plans, specifications, and bid documents using tools like Bluebeam and HeavyBid software. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing analysis to determine project costs accurately. Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers through effective negotiation to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms. Assist in preparing bid proposals, budgets, and cost forecasts to support project planning and decision-making. Monitor project costs throughout construction to ensure adherence to budgets; implement cost control measures as needed. Review construction contracts, scope of work, and project schedules to align estimates with project requirements. Support project management teams by providing detailed estimates that inform scheduling, procurement, and resource allocation. Requirements Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and site operations. Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, HeavyBid, or similar tools. Solid knowledge of construction management principles, contracts, and project management practices. Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing with vendors and subcontractors. Ability to perform accurate quantity takeoffs and detailed cost analysis. Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members, clients, and suppliers effectively. Construction site experience is highly desirable to better understand on-the-ground realities that influence estimates.
