Job Description

Construction Superintendent A Tommer Construction Superintendent is responsible for day to day operations of their construction project. The superintendent is expected to lead crew (3-5 employees) production, own schedule, quality control, and safety for each job site. This description is a baseline- responsibilities and expectations are unique to YOU. Crew 1. Communicate your expectations to crews on: schedule, quality control, safety and conduct. Provide feedback on performance, attendance and conduct to employee 2. Alert crews of changes in daily schedule immediately (ex: weather) 3. Manage daily performance of subcontractors 4. Be a hands on Superintendent working side by side your crew Schedule 1. Plan and schedule man power needs based on job milestones 2. Own execution of job milestones, and communicate progress and challenges to the Team Drive short-term schedule, tying back to milestones. 1 week out, 2 weeks out, etc. Identify and drive critical path items, pertaining to overall schedule end date Execute and plan for manpower needs for critical path items Quality Control 1. Drive overall quality control on job from start to close out 2. Understand plans and specifications. Identify flaws in design and rectify appropriately 3. Maintain professional appearance of yourself, your job site, and your crews 4. Timely closeout of punch list 5. Implement weather tightness details to ensure quality product 6. Work within the Tommer Team to understand owner expectations Safety 1. Drive adoption and practice of all safety policies and procedures. Lead by example Mentor and guide crews to identify and manage work place hazards; including troubleshooting. Report any near misses to safety manager 2. Hold weekly safety meetings to address site specific issues, subcontractor safety practices, and other OSHA compliance related topics. Work with Safety Manager to highlight critical and relevant topics Equipment and Materials 1. Proactively work with Tommer Team to schedule and return equipment 2. Procurement of materials of day to day material including: concrete, studs, equipment, etc. Manage purchase orders, receipt and usage of materials 3. Manage and retain all documents related to job, including: daily logs, inspections, payroll, etc. Education and Experience 1. Five (5) years previous experience and progressive constrution industry supervision/management experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Salary 1. Salary Pay listed is Depending on Experience and negotiable upon hiring All work is local within Grant, Douglas, Chelan and Adams and surrounding counties.
