Reporting To:
Project Manager Job Purpose:
Serve as the on-site authority, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence while maintaining clear communication with government personnel and subcontractors. Also, you will be responsible for ensuring required project and administrative reports are completed per Federal, State, and company standards and regulations.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct Site Supervision Maintain daily presence on-site (inside the construction area for the required hours per project), overseeing all field activities and subcontractor coordination. Act as the contractor's authorized representative per
FAR 52.236-6
Navigate pre-priced scopes, unit cost schedules, and rapid mobilization timelines. Ensure work aligns with project contract parameters and government expectations Perform work on projects to include, but not limited to: moving furniture, demo, installing protective barriers, painting, wall repair, cable removal/install, pressure washing, etc. or any task required by the company to fill scope gaps Develop, update and communicate short-duration schedules. Drive progress to meet tight performance windows typical of project task orders Manage subcontractor schedules , quality-of-work, and coordination with other trades Implement site-specific safety plans and enforce OSHA standards. Conduct daily quality checks and ensure compliance with contract documents, SOW's, drawings, submittals and construction specifications Maintain daily logs, progress photos, and weekly reports for Project Manager. Track labor, materials, and subcontractor performance Assist Project Manager with pre-construction and construction close-out requirements Establish and maintain relationships with the government representatives, design professionals, building officials, local businesses, and police and fire departments Clean the job site daily with the subcontractor's assistance
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Must be able to work with government and non-government personnel in a professional and clear manner. Be able to work with different trades and construction focuses to ensure a quality environment without limiting the trades' ability to complete work. Must be able to properly communicate over the phone and in writing to all personnel, to include: upper management, subcontractors, suppliers, onsite staff, owners, PM's, other superintendents, and site safety. Must be able to maintain leadership of each project and drive the schedule. Qualifications 3 years of managing construction projects OSHA 10 training Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent plan and specification reading skills Well-developed organizational skills Good character: honest and dependable Good interpersonal skills Must pass government security clearance standards Good driving record, valid license Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. Preferred Experience in Federal government construction Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word Corps of Engineer Training Experience in reading drawings Scheduling knowledge
