All temporary employees are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time. Individuals hired into a temporary State job must be fully qualified for the job. Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay:

$40.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.

Management Preferences:

The employee will support the Contract and Grants Management team in their basic operational functions by executing and maintaining contracts, processing financial statements, and reporting or compliance requirements. The employee works directly with programmatic employees and vendors to facilitate the implementation of critical grant dollars that assist or enrich the lives of North Carolinians. This is accomplished by assisting in the creation of Statements of Work (and other pre-award documents or requirements), facilitating award procedures through internal systems (including OpenWindow), and ensuring post-award compliance. Additionally, the employee provides administrative support and training to other Contract Administrators, as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Working knowledge of contracts. Ability to negotiate new contracts. Ability to compose general, routine contract documents and correspondence Minimum Education and Experience Some state job postings say you can qualify by an "equivalent combination of education and experience." Necessary Special Requirements Completion of the North Carolina Contract Management Certification Program within one year of hire into the position.
