Our expertise includes design, manufacturing, quality assurance, packaging, display, and supply chain management. We design in the USA and manufacture worldwide to offer our retail partners the ideal combination of value and fashion leadership. We work in close partnership with major retailers to bring innovative products to market. Basketville is a closely held, multi-generation family business with multiple corporate entities in the United States and abroad. As a family-owned company, we operate with a long-term mindset, strong relationships, and a hands-on, collaborative management style. Decisions are made quickly, communication is direct, and leadership works closely together across all parts of the business. This is not a large corporate environment with narrow roles and layers of management. Instead, this position is best suited for someone who enjoys variety, ownership, problem solving, and being deeply involved in how a business operates day-to-day and long-term. As Controller, you will serve in multiple capacities, including CFO, Senior Accountant, Human Resources, and Risk Analyst. Duties and Responsibilities Serve as a direct report and advisor to the CEO on financial and business issues, organizational issues, administrative/infrastructure issues and a wide array of tactical/strategic issues. Generate, review and approve monthly and annual financial reporting. Manage working capital and cash flow, credit and collections, cash flow forecasting and availability of funds. Manage relationships with lenders and banking partners. Direct preparation of annual/multi-year/interim budgets and forecasts. Responsible for tax filings (federal, state and local) in conjunction with our Independent Accountant. Protect and safeguard the assets of the corporation by maintaining or establishing adequate and cost effective internal control systems and procedures. Maintain employee benefits programs, assist with benefit claims as needed; obtain and evaluate benefits contracts, benefits reporting and compliance as needed. Process and maintain payroll and related records, onboarding, timekeeping and other HR compliance. Ensuring legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings. Maintain information technology strategies by managing staff; researching and implementing technological strategic solutions. Responsibilities in risk management, including the assessment of potential risks and the development of recommendations to mitigate the risk/exposure through adequate, appropriate, and cost-effective insurance coverage. Work effectively with the corporate leadership, legal counsel, independent accounting firm, fellow executives and the general employee population. An energetic, enabling, collaborative and motivational style is most appropriate for the company. Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensures timely, accurate, without crisis operations of the financial, administrative, and other resource functions with constant attention to improving efficiencies, management information, productivity, and ultimately, profit margins. Interested candidates must email their resume and cover letter to HR@basketville.com to be considered.
