  • Seasonal, Full-time Position Description The Convenience Store Team Member plays a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience by keeping shelves and coolers stocked, organized, and visually appealing while providing friendly, attentive service to every guest.
This role supports daily store operations by following established stocking, merchandising, cleanliness, and safety standards. C-Store Team Members are expected to balance operational tasks with hospitality, ensuring that guests are always acknowledged, assisted, and welcomed while maintaining accurate and well-presented product areas. Responsibilities & Duties Guest Service & Hospitality Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner when working on the sales floor or in coolers. Remain aware of guest needs and offer assistance even while performing stocking or cleaning tasks. Never ignore guests due to task completion or time pressure. Respond quickly to spills, clutter, or product issues that may affect the guest experience. Direct guests to the appropriate area or team member when additional assistance is needed. Model Wally's standards of courtesy, urgency, and helpfulness at all times. Stocking & Merchandising Accurately stock shelves, coolers, and displays according to company planograms and standards. Ensure products are faced, aligned, and properly labeled. Rotate products using FIFO (First In, First Out) practices to maintain freshness. Report low stock, out-of-stocks, or damaged items to the C-Store Lead or Manager. Assist with merchandising resets, promotional displays, and seasonal product changes. Keep work areas organized and free from excess packaging or clutter. Inventory Support Assist with receiving, unpacking, and placing delivered merchandise in proper locations. Follow procedures for checking product counts and reporting discrepancies. Help maintain accurate product placement to support inventory tracking. Communicate product shortages, overstock, or mis-shipments promptly. Cleanliness & Store Appearance Maintain clean shelves, coolers, and display areas throughout the shift. Regularly remove trash, cardboard, and packaging from the floor and backroom. Wipe down cooler doors, shelves, and high-touch surfaces as assigned. Report maintenance issues, leaks, or unsafe conditions immediately. Support overall store cleanliness as part of the guest experience standard. Safety & Compliance Follow all safety procedures when handling products, equipment, and cleaning supplies. Use proper lifting techniques and request assistance when needed. Keep aisles, coolers, and storage areas clear of hazards. Report damaged goods, spills, or unsafe conditions immediately. Follow all food safety guidelines when handling grab-and-go items and beverages. Teamwork & Communication Communicate clearly with Leads and Managers about task progress and concerns. Work cooperatively with Cashiers, Kitchen, Maintenance, and other departments. Accept coaching and feedback in a professional manner. Assist teammates during busy periods when directed or when help is needed. Maintain a positive and respectful attitude with guests and coworkers. Other Duties Perform additional tasks as assigned by Leads or Store Leadership. Support store events, promotions, and peak-time operations as needed. Uphold Wally's values of hospitality, teamwork, professionalism, and accountability. Position Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred; or up to one-month related experience or training Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Basic math and cash handling skills Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems using standard operating procedures. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software and Spreadsheet software.
