Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry, particularly in restaurant settings or dietary departments. This role involves preparing meals, planning menus, and ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. Responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu plans. Assist in menu planning, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and preferences. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling techniques. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and cooking areas. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Help train new kitchen staff as needed, sharing knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety practices. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management. Skills Proven experience as a Cook in a restaurant or catering environment is preferred. Strong knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food handling practices. Familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities is a plus. Excellent knife skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated. Good communication skills to effectively coordinate with kitchen staff and management. Creative mindset for menu planning that caters to various dietary needs.
