POSITION SUMMARY

The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, well-balanced meals for residents while maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and presentation. This role plays an important part in enhancing residents' daily experience through food that is both enjoyable and tailored to their dietary needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and cook meals according to menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines. Ensure meals are served on time and presented attractively. Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures. Prepare meals for residents with special dietary needs such as low-sodium, diabetic, or modified diets. Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and food service areas. Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service. Monitor food quality and communicate supply or inventory needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience as a cook, line cook, or dietary cook preferred. Experience in assisted living, healthcare, or senior living is a plus. Knowledge of food safety practices and kitchen sanitation standards. Ability to prepare meals for large groups and follow standardized recipes. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Compassionate and respectful approach to working with seniors. Food safety or culinary certification preferred but not required.
