Tuesday-Saturday 2:30pm-Close Cook Position Summary Penmac Staffing is hiring a Cook to support daily kitchen operations for a local organization in Ironton. This role focuses on food preparation, sanitation, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment. The Cook plays an important role in food safety compliance, prep work, and supporting smooth daily service, events, and special functions. Cook Responsibilities Follow all food safety, sanitation, and cleaning procedures Properly label food containers with item name and date Check food dates regularly and discard items according to guidelines (including 7‑day refrigerated limits) Complete daily opening and closing kitchen checklists Keep the kitchen clean, sanitized, and organized throughout the shift Wash, scrub, and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, baskets, utensils, and silverware Refill sauce portion cups, cold table bottles, and bread fridge items Portion appetizers, wrap cheese, and assist with food prep tasks Restock items in cold tables and front freezer as needed Pull items from freezer to thaw in preparation for refilling and service Prep food for daily service, events, buffets, and salad bar Follow items listed on the freezer weekly board Take out garbage, replace liners, and maintain waste areas Support other kitchen and staff needs as they arise Stay productive throughout the shift by assisting with prep and cleaning tasks Arrive to work clean, presentable, and ready to work Requirements for the Cook Previous kitchen or food service experience preferred Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to [insert weight requirement] Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions Willingness to submit to required pre-employment screenings Work Environment Fast-paced kitchen environment with varying service levels Schedule may include evenings, weekends, and event-based shifts Apply online today or contact Penmac Staffing - Brainerd Branch for more information.
