Job Description

""Swing shift 11 am-7 pm"" ""Cooking experiance preferred"" An esteemed Assisted Living Facility, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to oversee culinary operations. The lead cook will ensure the delivery of high-quality food service that meets the nutritional needs and preferences of our residents. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to creating enjoyable dining experiences for seniors in the community setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Menu Planning and Execution:
Develop nutritious and appealing menus that cater to the dietary requirements and preferences of seniors. Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals, ensuring high standards are consistently met. Looking for someone with experience with cooking, managing a kitchen and staff, food ordering
Kitchen Management:
Lead and supervise kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling. Maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen environment, adhering to food safety regulations. Manage inventory levels and procurement of food and supplies as needed. Ensure proper maintenance and functionality of kitchen equipment.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct regular inspections to uphold food quality, portion control, and presentation standards. Address any food-related concerns promptly and effectively.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with dietary consultants, healthcare professionals, and staff to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences. Communicate effectively with residents and their families regarding menu options and special requests.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Lead Cook or in a similar role, ideally within a healthcare or senior living environment. Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for seniors. Hands-on experience in cooking, food safety, sanitation process Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while ensuring exceptional service.
Education and Certification:
ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety training.
Working Conditions:
Dynamic kitchen environment within the tranquil setting of Dorian Place. Flexibility required for occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work to accommodate resident dining needs.
