GENERALJOB SUMMARY
This is a part-time position, (27.5 hours per week), scheduled primarily for afternoon/evening shift, located on the Spencer Campus. Primary responsibilities include planning, preparing, and serving main-course meals for students, staff, and special events, with occasional weekend shifts. Work is performed in a commercial kitchen. This position requires strong attention to food quality, sanitation, and safety standards, as well as a strong commitment to customer service and positive interaction with students and staff. The employee is expected to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced food service environment while maintaining consistency, professionalism, and efficiency. This is an "essential" personnel position and may require the employee to work during college closures.Position:

): Constant (67-100%) Plan, prepare, and serve main course meals for students, staff, and special events in a safe, sanitary, and enjoyable manner. Demonstrate knowledge of measurement equivalents and follow recipes for quantity cooking. Operate commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, fryers, roasters, grills, stoves, mixers, blenders, grinders, and cutting utensils. Read menus to estimate food requirements for meals and ensure sufficient quantities are prepared and available. Serve high-quality, nutritious meals while maintaining food safety and sanitation standards at all times. Frequent (34-66%) Ensure all tasks are completed in a safe and sanitary manner. Clean and sanitize cooking utensils, equipment, and food preparation areas, including scrubbing floors, washing dishes, pans, and other kitchenware. Serve food in the cafeteria line as needed. Occasional (10-33%) Report equipment maintenance needs to the supervisor. Operate cash register as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Must be an enthusiastic and energetic individual with the ability to interact effectively and courteously with students, staff, and the public. Ability to assume responsibility, exercise sound judgment, and effectively address and resolve problems as they arise. Ability to read and understand written and oral instructions and clearly communicate verbal directions. Ability to work collaboratively and coordinate effectively with coworkers in a team-oriented environment. Ability to safely and effectively operate common food service equipment, including stoves, refrigerators, freezers, grills, blenders, mixers, food preparation utensils, and cash register systems. Knowledge of food service sanitation and safety procedures, with the ability to consistently apply and follow established standards.SPECIAL DEMANDS
Light to medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, with assistance as needed. Position involves standing most of the time and includes frequent stooping, reaching, handling, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling, pushing, pulling, carrying, lifting up to 25 pounds, lifting above five feet, and repetitive motion approximately 75% of the time. Balancing, climbing, and fine motor tasks (10-33% of the time). Work is performed in a commercial kitchen environment with exposure to cleaning detergents, odors, fumes, heat, and humidity. May be required to travel using a personal vehicle. Must have valid driver's license, good driving record, and provide proof of insurance. Employment with Iowa Lakes Community College is dependent upon successful passage of a criminal background check. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. High school diploma or equivalency required. Quantity cooking experience preferred. ServSafe Manager Certification preferred, additional training provided as needed.Salary:
