BUSINESS MANAGER - INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY
GENERAL
JOB SUMMARY
This is a full-time position located at the Administration Offices in Estherville. Primary responsibilities are to assist the Executive Director of Finance in coordinating the activities and personnel in the Central Business Office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
(% OF TIME): Constant (67-100%) Supervise, manage, direct, and evaluate personnel and activities as assigned in the Business Office. Work with staff to answer business office questions and inquiries. Assist with student accounts including charges, scholarship, payments, and refunds. Review and approve invoices, purchase requests, and expenditures in accordance with policies and budget requirements. Perform timely review and reconciliation of purchase card transactions. Perform reconciliations for various asset and liability accounts. Frequent (34-66%) Budget responsibilities: a) Work with Executive Director of Finance to establish budgets. b) Process budget revision and budget change orders. c) Reconcile budget changes to financial reports. d) Periodically review budgets for problem areas.
Payroll Responsibilities:
a) Assist with payroll preparation. b) Prepare quarterly and annual tax filings. c) Assist with tax and withholding submissions. Prepare and submit monthly reports on operating, tuition, continuing education, internal year-end, and other periodic reports. Monitor general ledger for year-end audit process. Occasional (10-33%) Work with auditor to answer questions and inquiries. Participate in college-wide and community activities and events to promote the College's interest. Participate in voluntary and assigned committees of the college. Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Provide leadership skills. Ability to establish and maintain good working relations with students and other staff while providing positive customer service. Represent the College in a positive manner to employees, students, visitors, and the general public. Must be enthusiastic and energetic in performance of assigned duties and responsibilities. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and ability to implement those principles in a college setting. Ability to access, input and retrieve information from a computer utilizing both a personal computer and a mainframe system. Knowledge of and ability to format and use spreadsheet software for generating reports and monitoring accounts. Ability to read, understand and express oneself clearly and effectively in oral and written communication. Ability to manage and supervise activities and personnel.
SPECIAL DEMANDS
Sedentary to light work. Position involves sitting most of the time, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally (10-33%). Stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and carrying, repetitive motions, walking, lifting, and grasping occasionally (10-33%). Talking, hearing, and viewing various types of close visual work constantly (67-100%). Required to travel utilizing personal vehicle. Must have valid driver's license, good driving record, and provide proof of insurance. Employment at Iowa Lakes Community College is dependent upon successful passage of a criminal background check. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree and four years' experience in accounting or a closely related field required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Computer knowledge and experience required. Prior experience in accounting and payroll functions preferred.

$65,749
