GRADE STD 0020 LOCATION OF POSITION
MDH, Holly Center, Salisbury, MD Main Purpose of Job This position plans, administers and advises on Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center's Individual Therapy Program. This position supports the overall mission of the hospital to ensure every patient has access to and is engaged in Individual Therapy. This position serves as the primary point of contact for day-to-day administration of Individual Therapy Programming to include but not limited to coordinating all therapy services, monitoring and reporting on the quality of services, recommending and creating processes from referral, assignment and discharge from the program.. This position works in tandem with identified individual therapy providers to provide clinical and non-clinical supervision/support to ensure the provision of effective clinical services and the use of evidenced based practices when providing individual therapy. This position may serve as the tertiary departmental contact in the absence of the Director and Assistant Director and is a part of a unit(s) treatment team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Determined by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners under the licensing requirements for Social Workers.
Experience:
Six years experience rendering clinical social work services in a health care or treatment setting subsequent to the receipt of an approved Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university. At least two years of the experience must have involved directing a clinical services program or unit or supervising Social Workers with Master degrees.
Note:
Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a commissioned officer in Social Work classifications or Social Work specialty codes in the Social Science, Psychology, and Welfare field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should possess the following: Experience with the provision of clinical supervision in the areas of the provision of Dialectial Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and the use of person-centered treatment modalities Experience with the provision of therapy for the seriously mentally ill and forensic population Experience administering therapy programming for hospital systems and/or outpatient clinics
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS 1.
Candidates must be licensed as a Certified Social Worker-Clinical by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners prior to appointment to a position in State service. Applicants who do not have the license may also apply pending receipt of the required license. When the license is obtained, submit a copy to the Maryland Department of Health Testing Unit. 2. Candidates appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess an appropriate operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
